Portfolio Customers
Our Public Interest Committee (PIC) oversees Outten & Golden's work on public hobby employment-associated instances on behalf of low-income customers who can't manage to pay for a legal professional. O&G has co-advised cases with the ACLU Women's Rights Project, the NYCLU Reproductive Rights Project, the NYU Immigrant Rights Clinic, the National Employment Lawyers Project, the Legal Aid Society of New York, MFY Legal Services, the Sex Workers Project at the Urban Justice Center, South Brooklyn Legal Services, the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund, the MinKwon Center for Community Action, Make the Road New York, and HIV Law Project, among other corporations.
We constitute seasoned bono customers at no cost or on a contingency foundation as appropriate.
As examples of our pro bono subjects, we've represented:
•A personnel who spent months after the 9-11 assaults cleansing workplaces, flats and shops close to Ground Zero but had been no longer paid right beyond regular time wages.
•Four low-salary manufacturing unit employees whose supervisor persistently sexually pressured them.
•A cleansing girl whose organisation compelled her to paintings increased hours and perform risky guide labor while she have become pregnant, and in the end fired her for going to a health practitioner appointment.
•A gay, HIV-nice administrative assistant who became fired after complaining approximately discrimination by using his manager on the basis of his sexual orientation and perceived disability.

O&G has regularly collaborated with non-income groups to represent thousands of low-wage employees in elegance action cases for violations of their civil rights and/or their rights beneath federal and country salary and hour legal guidelines. Clients have blanketed garment employees, eating place kitchen people, retail clerks, and transport people.
